For the sixth day of our trip we spent starting out by going to a rural community that ousted their government 32 years ago. They initially ousted the police and made the police so scared they have never attempted to return. They also ousted a corrupt judge after that that had been causing the community problems. The community now has created a school, a chicken egg farm, and a weaving cooperative. The chicken egg farm failed at first, but they tried again and now it is going strong and successful. They have worked very hard and now are very good at sustaining themselves for the chicken farm and the weaving cooperative. They are using the school to help the children learn their native language as well as Spanish. The way that the women now do these three things are amazing and all without a governmental government. They do everything under their own governing and succeed. This community is an inspiration that shows what can be accomplished when communities come together.
We later visited a great restaurant that gives work to migrants that return or failed to get to the United States. We met some great people and got to see how they support themselves when they return from migrating. It is just an amazing thing that the restraint does to help those that need it.
